Atlas and Ceres

The GeoEpi computational and storage environments.

Atlas and Ceres are GeoEpi computational and storage environments used for:

• controlled or large data where approved;
• preprocessed and intermediate data;
• HPC execution;
• logs and temporary computational objects;
• large outputs.

They are not the authoritative location for project scope, collaborator roles, data-management plans, project decisions, or general project documentation. Those records need to be accessible to collaborators without SCINet or HPC access, usually through project documentation and repositories.

Do not assume that a platform is approved for every data class. Follow the applicable data-use agreement, security guidance, and institutional direction. Keep credentials out of repositories, scripts, configuration committed to Git, and logs.
