A GEOGRAPHICAL VIEW OF DISEASE
Disease patterns are not simply points on a map. Movement, transmission, environment, population structure, evolution, and landscape connectivity can leave recognizable spatial signatures in observations. GeoEpi develops quantitative approaches to identify those signatures and connect observed pattern to biological process.
We do not treat geography as the backdrop to disease. We treat it as part of the biology.
