Purpose of the Lab Book
The GeoEpi Lab Book is a practical guide for GeoEpi scientists and collaborators. It helps people organize collaborative, computationally intensive geographical epidemiology so that work remains understandable, scientifically defensible, reproducible where access permits, and possible to continue when people or projects change.
It is a living guide, not an administrative compliance manual or a substitute for scientific judgment, data-use agreements, security requirements, funder terms, or institutional policy. GeoEpi conventions are stated as conventions; stronger language is reserved for genuine scientific, security, contractual, or institutional requirements.
The audience includes computational scientists as well as veterinarians, microbiologists, virologists, entomologists, field epidemiologists, wildlife managers, and other domain experts. The organization should remain understandable outside HPC and command-line environments.
